The Size of my Tumor
My tumor is a meningioma, in the lining of the brain in the back on the right. it is 1.3 cm, a slow growing, nonmalignant tumor that did not cause the dizziness which he says was probably caused by a problem in the inner ear and may not recur. Dr. Aziz says they need to watch the tumor, but at this time it is not causing any problems and is unlikely to in the near future. It could take decades to grow (or might not grow at all.) And if it needs an operation, it is the easiest brain tumor to remove (not that it is risk free).
I have included a photo demonstrating the size of the tumor, about the size of my baby fingernail, a bit smaller than the face on a dime. But it is still there, and it's still a threat. Still, if I have to have a brain tumor, it's apparently the least bad kind to have, for which I am grateful.
The meningioma tumor is benign and carries the possibility of "cure" in approximately 80% of cases. The long-term outcome for a patient with this tumor is a direct function of the skill and assiduousness of the surgeon who removes it. This is the same type of tumor my mother had, which grew to the size of a lemon before it was removed.

Wow! That is crazy. How did your mother do after hers was removed? The least bad kind to have is a good thing.
She recovered physically but never completely recovered mentally. She's in a nursing home. But her tumor was the size of a lemon and she was nearly 80 so I hope I'll do better! EEeeep!
It's been a long time that I have not visited your blog and I was shocked when I read that you have a dime size tumor, and, Yes I know you will do better. Thank God that it is benign and the easiest to remove, and let's hope that there is no need for an operation ever.
Prayers will do a lot of help, let's ask God intervention.
Hope you stay well.
Thank you Patricia for your kind words and prayers!!! I really appreciate it! I am still worried about the tumor of course, but am going on with my life as normal (with prayers).
I'm behind on commenting because I am also in the process of moving! Mary :-)
Oh, phew! If it's that small, I wouldn't worry ab out it either.
There are all kinds of new procedures out there as
well as meds. Upstate has something called a "gamma
knife" that is supposedly non invasive, or minimally
so. Don't know how it works, but I 'm sure the
information is available on the web.
Something like that would really have to get big to
invade on the little brain I've got left.
You scared the shit out of me!!!!
Scared the shit out of me, too! They called and left a message they had test results and when I called they told me I had a brain tumor--on the phone. I had an appoointment MOnday to see the doctor and I got no sleep AT ALL ALL WEEKEND writing my obituaries etc.
WOW....I am so sorry... talk about scary. My dad is a chiropractor and he once told me about a man who lived in some other country who knew the cure for cancer..(it is all natural from whatI remember) I wonder if it could help you... I know he gave the recipe to some of his patients that had it and BAM it was gone.. Want me to see if I can get it from him?? Respond on my blog...
hnaks, Bearuh! I appreciate your concern! Mary :-)
Ok I will ask him and let you know when I get it
Blessings to you and hopes for no more issues with this sucker. :-)
Thanks, Rrramone, me too!!!
I won't know for 6 months, anything new.
Thanks, Bearuh, I appreciate that!!! Mary :-)
I'm not sure if this is a spam comment or an honest effort to help but so far I'm avoiding meds.
