Dizzy

It wasn't as pretty as this, or this much fun! :-(

I was dizzy all day yesterday and it was scary! :-(

I felt somewhat nauseated some of the time, and lurched as if I would fall. Luckily, I did not. Everything I tried to do was difficult.

I worried all day about what it was. Here were some of my thoughts:

  • I have a brain tumor in the area where balance is controlled in the brain and the tumor could have grown and be impinging there. The doctor thinks this is unlikely, becasue it would affect me more constantly.
  • My doctor (Neurologist, Moudgil) thinks I may be having "Silent Migraines." Huh? If they are silent, then how would you know you had them?
  • Vertigo? I have spells of vertigo, but this particular spell was not accompanied by a spinning sensation like the others have been.
  • Swine flu? Some other infection or illness?
  • Exhaustion: I'm simply not getting enough sleep.
  • I even worried I was getting an aneurysm, which seems silly now, but . . .
Luckily, today I feel much better. I was really nervous yesterday.

Did you check your ears? I once had a condition where I would begin to walk across the street, looking both ways, and of course turning my head back and forth to cross safely. Then I would be socked with a bad dizzy spell.

A shot of cortisone helped a lot.

I'd been doing exercises for the inner ear for my vertigo, but I've been so busy that I've forgotten to do them. But no, I haven't had them checked. If it continues or returns, I will consider it. Thanks.

I get that dizzy stuff when I have a migraine. It's awful.

Whatever it was, I'm glad you're feeling better.

I get silent migraines, but they are accompanied by an aura of glittery lights and affect my vision. I always know when they present themselves.

Thanks jo(e) and Nadine.

I've been reading up on migraines--I never thought of myself as a migraine sufferer, since I rarely get headaches, but I did have a stabbing pain in the upper center of the right side of my brain--which I wouldn't have called a headache exactly, but maybe it was.

Mostly, I just felt weird, dizzy and slightly nauseous.

The dizziness is gone, but I haven't slept much for several days, so it's hard to tell how I feel, other than exhausted.
