Mary, I really appreciate the concept behind this blog and look forward to sharing my thoughts on some of the subjects your bring up... I can relate to at least a few of them!
And yeah... insomnia is the worst. Or as I say... it sucks pickles. If I can't sleep well I feel like death walking...
If this is inappropriate, tell me... (you may not want or desire suggestions and I would understand that totally...). One thing that helps me is to find someway to click off my thinking mind. I have a couple of dvds that do this for me (and certain reading helps too). An incredible dvd is "Into Great Silence." It is a film that looks inside the famed Carthusian Monoastery. All it is is images of the monks at their prayers, making meals, etc. There is no dialogue whatsoever...
It's like their simplicity becomes my own... I feel a slower rhythm take over and before I know it, I am in sleepy land.
If you feel any resonance, maybe you could rent it through Netflix or check it out online...
This is my moaning and groaning blog. I try to keep it to a minimum elsewhere. Sure, I would appreciate any and all suggestions.
I used to listen to calming tapes in bed before sleep, but now that Ia m married, I can't do that. Maybe I could do it somewhere else and then go to bed?
Actually, I got quite a chuckle out of your tiptoeing to bed while sleeping, hee hee hee! :-D
We don't have a TV so if it were a DVD, I'd have to watch on my computer. Maybe there is soemthing on the internet . . . ? I wonder?
Tonight I was falling asleep while my husband was reading to me, but when he finished, I need to look at my email in case there was anything important . . .

I usually watch or read in the living room and then when I'm sleeping, I tip toe into bed.
Since I'm a night person anyway, he's used to my late night schedule, lol.
And don't worry about any moaning or groaning ... looking into the dark side is powerful and therapeutic, I feel.
...oops, sorry, I meant to say, when I am sleepy, I tip toe into bed...
well, unless I'm sleep walking! :)
